Hi friends! It’s time for a new blog post, and this one is going to be a look behind the scenes on location with Nicole Burron. Nicole is a regular client of mine, who I treasure deeply. We became connected completely randomly through Instagram. She actually started following me which came to my surprise when I saw that she has 55K followers! I quickly tapped into her stories to find that in very moment she was looking for a new photographer. So I quickly slid into her DM‘s, and the rest is history. Since then we’ve had several shoots at many amazing locations together. Nicole and I have found the perfect balance between friendship and client, as well as creative control and respecting the other person’s vision. Sometimes you just CLICK. I found time and time again that when the soul connection with a client is strong the photos just come nothing short of fantastic. Because Nicole is an astrologer when she told me this shoot’s theme was Scorpio, I might have screamed “YES” from the top of my lungs. - I’m a Scorpio Sun and in my true Scorpio self, love anything related to myself. (LOL) With dresses and costumes in hand, Nicole, Michelle and I trekked out to the water early one morning to ensure we got a nice moody, dark vibe. Unfortunately, it was exceptionally bright and exceptionally cold that morning. You’d never be able to tell from the after photos: take a look below! TAP ANY PHOTO TO VIEW IT LARGER A HUGE thanks to Canis Calva, a woman who is decorating death in allowing us to include two of her beautiful pieces in our session. If you want to see more of her skulls check out: www.caniscalva.com. Once Nicole was throughly frozen, we headed back to her house to do some studio style portraits. TAP ANY PHOTO TO VIEW IT LARGER Only half the magicWhat is captured by the camera is only half way to the magic. Don’t believe me? Check out these before and afters. A guessing gameOne of my favorite tricks is finding what I can manipulate in real time with prisms, distortions and double exposures. Half of these photos were taken AS IS in my camera, and the other half was done in post production with photoshop, and apps like Lens Distortions. Can you guess which is which?
